Welcome to Teacher Workshop (TWS) course, EDU 3370 - Differentiated Instruction of Reading for Elementary Students. My name is Kristen Hull and I will be your facilitator for this course. In addition to working with Florida Southern and their workshops, I am also a 5th grade teacher, working towards the certified level for the Academy of Orton Gillingham.  I am also working toward my doctorate in Educational Leadership.  This is my 9th year teaching and 4th year facilitating teacher workshops.  I always enjoy getting to know everyone's educational background and look forward to a wonderful week!

The success of online instruction and what you gain from it depends on three types of interactions: student-student; student-instructor; and student-content. To quote a recent instructor: “The online teaching and training environment can be lonely if you don’t engage with each other and your trainer.” To facilitate questions and clarifications there is a forum for questions called “Post Questions You Have Here”. Remember if you have a question, it is very likely that others do as well. I will be encouraging all students to respond to other students with comments, questions, and observations. The minimum required student responses on the forums, is two, however the more posts you read and respond to, the richer the class experience will be.

EDU 3370 is only 9 days long, so I make every effort to respond to student questions and email as soon as possible. I am looking forward to a wonderful course together!
