Moccasin Battalion Cadets Commissioned As Army Officers
Graduating cadets of the Moccasin Battalion were commissioned as Army 2nd Lieutenants during the Spring ROTC Commissioning Ceremony in May, an annual component of Commencement Weekend activities. Family and friends were on hand in FSC’s Annie Pfeiffer Chapel to help mark the commissioning, which featured speakers Lt. Col. Rocky Vaira, professor of military science and department chair at Florida Southern, and Brig. Gen. Stanley Budraitis, Commander of the 66th Troop Command of the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Lynn Dennis '71: A Legacy Of Commitment and Dedication
The end of an era arrived at Florida Southern College this summer. One of our most beloved administrators and an all-around campus treasure, Lynn Mason Dennis, retired after almost 48 years of service to her alma mater. In numerous campus roles over the decades, her enthusiasm, her kindness, her genuine caring, and her sense of humor have been her trademarks. A 1971 graduate, Lynn served the institution in several ways including as an Admissions Counselor, the Dean of Women, Alumni Director, Director of Planned Giving, and most recently, Executive Assistant to the President.
