Course set-up:  There are five modules.  Each module is named Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5.

Each Day # - There is an Agenda that tells you what you need to do, Learn – a reminder to review the handouts and resources provided to you in the module, and the Tasks required – your assignments.

 

Grading Scale100-90% A; 89-80%  B; 79-70%  C; 69-60 %;  D; 59-0%  F   

The Florida Department of Education requires you to pass all education courses with a final grade of C or better.

Assignments:  ALWAYS follow the descriptions for assignments as listed on the portal as those descriptions contain much more information.

Assignments have firm due dates.  Discussion posts cannot be made up if you miss the deadline and the initial post is 15 of the points awarded and the replies are 10 points

April 3-Day 1 Agenda: Knowledge of effective Science instruction

  1. Review all of the handouts included in today's module.
  2. Assignment #1 Discussion Forum - YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS ON DAY 1, April 3, by 8:00 p.m.  This counts as your attendance.
  3.  Assignment #2
    • Part 1 – locate (online) the National Science Education Standards, Florida Curriculum Framework, and Educator Accomplished Practices to learn frameworks to develop instructional practices for students in science.  
    • Part 2 - PowerPoint Presentation

April 4 - Day 2 Agenda Knowledge of Earth and Space

  1. Begin working on Assignment #3 Research Paper
  2. Assignment #4  start locating Online Resources

April 5 -Day 3 Agenda

  1. Assignment #2 is due
  2. Review all of the resources included in Day 3 module.
  3. Begin working on Assignment #5:  Bulletin Board Slides
  4. Begin working on Assignment #6:  Website Critiques (use template)
  5. Complete Blog

April 6 -Day 4 Agenda

  1. Assignment #3 and 4 are due
  2. Begin by carefully reviewing all of the handouts and resources included in Day 4 module.
  3. Begin working on Assignment #7:  Create a detailed science lesson plan
  4. Complete Assignment #8 the Discussion- about ELL learners

April 7- Day 5 Agenda

  1.  Assignment #5 is due
  2.  Begin thinking about what you want to do for your Science Unit, Assignment #9
  1.  Complete Assignment #10 the Science Lab

April 8 - Day 6 Agenda

  1. Assignment #6 is due

April 9-Day  7 Agenda

  1. Assignment 10 is due
  2. Continue working on your lesson plan and unit

April 10 -Day 8 Agenda
