Lesson Plan #1 . (Observation – 100 points) (Lesson Plan 60)

The candidate must plan, develop, and implement a standards-based lesson plan emphasizing student engaged learning, using the FSC lesson plan template that includes a clearly stated learning goal which is aligned to the Florida Standards or NGSSS depending on the subject area.

The College Supervisor will observe and assess the lesson plan and implementation based on the FEAPs, ESOL Standards, PECS, and UCCs on the Internship Evaluation Form with a focus on the areas below:

  • Communicating with students
    • Instructional practices reflect intentional development of students understanding of the lesson
    • Students are provided opportunities to participate in learning activities which require them to show, tell, explain, and prove their reasoning
  • Using strategies to evoke higher-order thinking and discussions
    • Scaffolding, pacing, prompting, and probing techniques are used when asking students questions
    • Questions elicit thoughtful responses
    • Specific and appropriate feedback is given
  • Engaging students in the learning process
    • Lesson delivery includes collaborative structures

 

Lesson Plan #2 . (Observation – 100 points) (Lesson plan – 60 points)

The candidate must plan, develop, and implement a standards-based lesson plan to meet the needs of all students through differentiated methods (small groups) using the FSC Lesson Plan Template that includes a clearly stated learning goal which is aligned to the Florida Standards or NGSSS depending on the subject area. Additionally, the preservice teacher must video tape the lesson implementation (via cell phone, computer, tablet, etc.) then complete the Self-Video Reflection Guide. The reflection guide will be completed and must be uploaded to the FSC Portal along with the video. (10 points)

The College Supervisor will observe and assess the lesson plan and implementation based on the FEAPs, ESOL Standards, PECS, and UCCs on the Internship Evaluation Form with a focus on the areas below:

  • The teacher candidate demonstrates knowledge of the students leaning levels, learning styles, language proficiencies and special needs.
  • Instruction is differentiated based on student needs
  • Sufficient wait time is utilized for students to reflect and answer questions
  • Assessments are appropriate to the learning needs of the students

 

Lesson Plan #3 (Observation – 100 points) (Lesson plan – 60 points)

The candidate must plan, develop, and implement a standards-based lesson plan focusing on content area knowledge with real-world connections using the FSC Lesson Plan Template that includes a clearly stated learning goal which is aligned to the Florida Standards or NGSSS depending on the subject area. Additionally, the preservice teacher must video tape the lesson implementation (via cell phone, computer, tablet, etc.) then complete the Self-Video Reflection Guide. The reflection guide will be completed and must be uploaded to the FSC Portal along with the video. (10 points)

  • Vocabulary instruction of content area terms is evident
  • Reading, writing, and scaffolding strategies across content areas for students to develop connections to the text
  • Technology and resources are used to enhance the instructional process and student productivity
  • Instructional outcomes reflect relevant learning which build a connection between curriculum and real-world connections

 

Lesson Plan #4   (PCSB) (Observation- 100 points) (Lesson plan – 60 points)

The candidate will create, develop, and implement a lesson plan using the FSC lesson plan format.  The plan will include the following criteria and be formally observed by the assigned FSC supervisor. This will be the last observation based on the overall teacher candidate performance using the PCSB Teacher Evaluation System.

  • Instructional Design, Lesson Planning, and Assessment
  • Instructional Delivery and Facilitation
  • Learning Environment
  • Professional Responsibilities and Ethical Conduct
