FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION I (EDU 1107)

Term: 2019-2020 Summer Workshop 4

Description

FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION I

Welcome to EDU 1107

Please take the opportunity to review the Portal. There is a tab for Tech Support, click on the tab and then the image which will guide you to support on how to upload documents, use the forums and blogs, and how to view and print each day’s activities.

Please be sure to review the daily Modules where you will find assignment due dates and expectations that will guide you through the course. You will also find this information in the Syllabus. (Please note: within the printable syllabus you will read that some of the lessons need to be done at FSC or Polk County Schools, this is not a requirement for online courses.)

Each Daily Tab- Day 1- 5, will provide you with the information you need to complete each assignment. Be sure to review the rubrics before you submit each assignment.

  • ALL STUDENTS MUST upload their items to the Portal. We WILL NOT accept any assignments, etc. via email. This is for everyone’s documentation. If you are having trouble uploading an assignment, please go to the tutorials under the “Help” tab and/or the Tech Buddies.
  1. PLEASE be aware that there is a time-limit in the Discussion Forum. I urge you to type your responses on a word document and copy-and-paste into the Forum so the time-limit does not cause your post/reply to 'disappear' prior to submitting.
  2. Tech Buddies information: fsc.techbuddies@gmail.com or 863.680.4212.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at hholley@flsouthern.edu.  I look forward to working with you throughout the course, and getting to know you, albeit virtually.

Other important notes:

Transcripts will not be released until the course is paid in full.

You may print an unofficial transcript from the portal.  It is accessible on the student homepage.

You may upload any assignment before the due date.

You will receive a Course Survey at the end of the course.

Grades are due by the professor the Friday following the last day of class (Saturday).

Once grades are submitted, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to obtain an official transcript.
